MUNDANE SPACES

I see beauty in normal things. My paintings are of surroundings I encounter in my everyday life: my home, public library, and the ceramics studio. They are all familiar to me, but when I look at a scene, I am immediately drawn to their shapes and colors. My work seeks to appreciate normal scenes. Using oil paints allows me to bring out the colors and emphasize nuances that make the scene interesting. My goal with paintings is not to capture realism, but to capture the perceptions of being enamored.
